Peripera Peri’s Ink Velvet Review: Testing the Popular K-beauty Lip Tint for Casual, Office, and Night Looks

Lip tints are extremely popular in Southeast Asia. With its comfortable and long-lasting wear plus youth-enhancing colors, this K-beauty trend is not going away anytime soon. Kristine (38, bank officer), Angel (24, mompreneur), and I test one of the most popular Korean lip tint brands, Peripera Peri’s Ink Velvet. See how these lip tints would look and perform for casual, office, and night party wear. We used the products as a lip and cheek tint.

Peripera Peri’s Ink Velvet Inktude Rose Review

Kristine is wearing Peripera Peri’s Ink Velvet in Inktude Rose. She is testing the product for office wear. The color suits her as the warm neutral rose color enhances her natural lip color and skin tone. Working in a bank requires her to look presentable at all times, but Kristine likes to keep her makeup simple and easy-to-do to save time in the morning.

What Kristine likes about Peripera Peri’s Ink Velvet in Inktude Rose: It’s very handy and efficient. I don’t need to bring a separate blush or think about which blush color to pair with it because this product also doubles as a cheek tint.

What it feels like on the lips/skin: This feels lightweight and it did not dry my lips.

Product performance: The color looks very solid upon first application. It stayed that way for hours even after I ate. After brushing my teeth, there is still some tint left on my lips. You need to use a makeup remover to completely get rid of it at night.

Would you buy it again?: Yes.

Other products used by Kristine: Clio Kill Cover Conceal-dation in 4 BO-Ginger, Clio Kill Cover Pro Artist Concealer 3-BY Linen, Covergirl Goldens Palette, Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder in Naturally Neutral, The Faceshop Designing Eyebrow Pencil, Yves Rocher Eyeliner

Peripera Peri’s Ink Velvet Love Sniper Red Review

Angel is wearing Peripera Peri’s Ink Velvet in Love Sniper Red for evening party wear. This is a wearable bright red that suits Angel’s confident and outgoing personality. She pairs it with a neutral brown smokey eye.

What Angel likes about Peripera Peri’s Ink Velvet in Love Sniper Red: I find that this particular shade is more pigmented than other lip tints I’ve tried from Peripera and other brands.

What it feels like on the lips/skin: It is neither moisturizing nor drying. It doesn’t feel like you’re wearing anything.

Product performance: Without eating, this product would last up to 10 hours! There is no need to reapply this product after eating because this will leave a natural tint on your lips with slight fading. The color is really pigmented and solid.

Would you buy it again? Yes, definitely. In fact I already use other lip tints from Peripera.

Other products used by Angel: LA Girl Concealers in purple, green, beige, and orange, BYS Foundation, BYS Lustrous Highlighter Palette, BYS Lustrous Eyeshadow Palette, Club Clio Powder Foundation in 4-BO Ginger, Laura Mercier Candleglow Sheer Perfecting Powder

Peripera Peri’s Ink Velvet Ooops Fuchsia Review

I’m wearing Peripera Peri’s Ink Velvet in Ooops Fuchsia. This is a fuchsia pink color that’s really striking in the bottle and on the lips. For casual wear, I did just dots on the inner part of my upper and lower lips to achieve a gradient effect.

I was scared to apply this on my cheeks because this is a very bright pink color, but I found a way to give me more time to blend this seamlessly. I applied Dr. Pawpaw Shea Butter Balm on my cheeks before applying 3 small dots of the tint on the apples of my cheeks. The balm also adds a dewy glow.

What I like about Peripera Peri’s Ink Velvet in Ooops Fuchsia: I loved the color (surprisingly!) and how it brightens my complexion. I also like that it really feels as though I’m not wearing any lip product. This is also not sticky if you use this as a blush.

What it feels like on the lips/skin: This doesn’t have moisturizing properties, so I need to wear lip balm underneath. The product does have a soapy scent, but it fades away quickly after application.

Product performance: Even with light application, the color did not go away completely until I took it off with my makeup remover at the end of the day. The color is very vivid and solid. For night wear, I can just fill the entire lip to get that eye-catching color.

Would you buy this again? Considering the price and the quality, yes.

Other products used by Michelle: Clio Kill Cover Conceal-dation in 4 BO-Ginger, Clio Kill Cover Pro Artist Concealer 3-BY Linen, Covergirl Goldens Palette, Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder in Naturally Neutral, MAC Veluxe Brow Liner in Brunette, Yves Rocher Eyeliner
